Following a cardiac event, most patients can benefit greatly from a specialized rehabilitation plan. The same is true for individuals with chronic pulmonary conditions. JRMC’s Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab staff is specially trained to help patients in both areas regain as much strength and quality of life as possible.
Both programs offer information for each individual patient about diet and nutrition, medication management, stress and many other lifestyle elements that affect recovery. Physical rehabilitation is a large part of the program, as well. Physical exercise strengthens the muscles of the body, including the heart and lungs Working at their own speed, participants utilize treadmills, stationary bicycles and weights, all under the watchful eye of trained nurses who monitor vital signs and offer encouragement throughout each session. Participation in this program must be ordered by the physician.
JRMC’s Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab is located on the first floor of the Jefferson Professional Center 1 at 1609 West 40th Avenue in Pine Bluff, AR. For more information, call (870) 541-7898.
JRMC’s ACT program for those with Chronic Heart Failure (CHF) is also conducted in the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab center.
