The Jefferson Regional School of Nursing is accredited by the ABHES, which is nationally recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a private, non-profit, independent accrediting agency since 1968.
American Board of Pathologists (CAP)
Jefferson Regional’s Pathology Lab is accredited by CAP, the most respected worldwide pathology organization.
Arkansas Board of Pharmacy
Jefferson Regional’s Inpatient and Outpatient Pharmacies are licensed and regulated by the state Board of Pharmacy, which oversees thousands of pharmacies, hospitals, distributors, pharmacists and pharmacy staff in Arkansas.
Arkansas Department of Health
Jefferson Regional’s Imaging Services department is licensed by the ADH.
Arkansas Department of Health – Division of Healthcare Facilities Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
The Arkansas Department of Health is the state survey agency for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. It handles survey and licensure of hospitals, as well as Medicare certification.
Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
CARF has awarded Jefferson Regional’s Rehab the highest level of accreditation: a 3-year certification for both the Comprehensive Adult program and the Stroke Specialty Program
Commission on Laboratory Accreditation (COLA)
COLA accredits almost 8,000 medical labs in the United States including Jefferson Regional, and is sponsored by the American Medical Association.
DEA – Drug Enforcement Agency
The DEA license is maintained for the hospital and the Retail Pharmacy separately. Each physician is also responsible to maintain their personal DEA License and in some cases for their clinics. The Jefferson Surgery Center also maintains a DEA license that the Jefferson Regional Inpatient Pharmacy provides a consultant Pharmacist to allow them to order controlled substances. The DEA regulates all Schedule 1 through Schedule 5 controlled substances. All Jefferson Regional related DEA licenses are registered for Schedule 2 through Schedule 5 only. The regulations for the DEA are maintained in the Code of Federal Regulations. The regulations are extensive and set out all requirements for storage, ordering, prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping for all Scheduled substances. Violation of DEA regulations can result in fines, penalties, and possible incarceration. All licensed healthcare workers are expected to be familiar with, understand and comply with all DEA regulations that impact their area of practice.
FDA – Food and Drug Administration
Jefferson Regional’s Mammography program is accredited through the FDA’s Mammography Quality Standards Act.
HRSA – Health Resources and Services Agency
Responsible for the 340B Drug discount program. Section 340B of the Public Health Services Act. Jefferson Regional qualifies for the 340B program as a Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) and as a Sole Community Provider (SCP). The program requires annual recertification and attestation that we have not knowingly violated the rules of the program. The scope of Jefferson Regional’s program covers multiple contract pharmacies in our 11 county coverage area. The program also covers all outpatient services for the Jefferson Regional main campus and the physician clinics that are registered as Provider Based.
Level 3 Trauma Center Designation – Arkansas Trauma System
The Arkansas trauma system is a network of connecting hospitals, ambulance services and other emergency responders statewide with the goal of providing care as quickly as possible after a traumatic injury. Designated as a Level 3 center, Jefferson Regional has the ability to provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, intensive care and stabilization of injured patients and emergency operations.
