Interventional Cardiologist, Ayman Alshami, M.D., earned his medical degree from Damascus University, Syria. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Atlantic City Medical Center, New Jersey. He was a fellow in Cardiology at the East Caroline University School of Medicine, and in Interventional Cardiology at Wake Forrest University School of Medicine.
Dr. Alshami began his career at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in 1998. He practices at Cardiology Associates in Pine Bluff, and is a member of the Jefferson Regional Medical Staff. He serves as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab, and the Director of the Department of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
When he isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Alshami enjoys playing tennis, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family. When asked about practicing medicine locally, Dr. Alshami said, “I love the people of Southeast Arkansas due to their kindness and hospitality, it feels like family.”
