Gastroenterologist, Meer Akbar Ali, M.D., is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He earned his medical degree from the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences in India. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Following his residency, Dr. Ali went on to complete a Gastroenterology fellowship and Advanced Endoscopy fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Following his training, Dr. Ali remained on staff at Case Western Hospital in Cleveland as an associate professor of gastroenterology.
Dr. Ali joined the Jefferson Regional medical staff in May of 2017, and practices at Jefferson Regional GI Associates.
Dr. Ali and his wife have two children. When he isn’t caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling and riding horses.
