General Surgeon, Michelle Eckert, M.D., earned her medical degree and completed a residency in general surgery at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She remains a strong supporter of the LSU Tigers and incorporates purple and gold into her wardrobe every chance she gets.
Dr. Eckert is board certified, and practices at Jefferson Regional Surgical Associates. She is a member of the physician team at Jefferson Regional Medical Center where she has served on many committees throughout her career. Currently, Dr. Eckert serves as Medical Director of Trauma and Medical Director for Trauma in the Intensive Care Unit. She is a member of the Board of Directors for JRMC.
Dr. Eckert is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Society. She is a member of the Arkansas Medical Society, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society, and the Isidor Cohn, Jr. – James D. Rives Surgical Society.
When she isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Eckert enjoys traveling with her husband John, cooking and reading a good book. She enjoys clay target shooting and has held the title of Arkansas Ladies Skeet Champion (twice), and the Arkansas Ladies Champion in the 410 in sporting clays. Her bucket list includes writing a novel, star gazing in Utah and finally making the perfect buttermilk biscuit.
