Registration is now underway at JRMC for a free six-week class in diabetes education.
The class is called DEEP, which stands for Diabetes Empowerment Education Program. Sessions will begin on Thursday, January 18 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. and will continue to meet each Thursday for a total of six weeks. Individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes will learn how the disease affects the body, how to monitor and understand blood sugar numbers and how to shop and cook in a healthier manner.
There is no charge for attending the class, but space is limited and registration is required. For more information or to sign up, call Lisa Duke, JRMC Health Educator, at 870-541-7195.
