October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! During the month of October, Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) will focus on raising awareness about breast cancer. Early detection is saving lives every day, thanks to mammography and breast self-exams. But the fight is far from over.
We’ll be sharing information about breast cancer throughout the month. Check out the calendar of events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month below!
October 1: JRMC goes pink to show our support for breast cancer research and treatment! The main campus will be bathed in pink lights each night in October.
October 3: JRMC will host a Facebook Live event with radiologist, Brian Owens, M.D. Follow our Facebook page for more information.
October 16: You’re invited to attend a Mammography Open House at Jefferson Professional Center I from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Attendees may visit our our 3-D Mammography Suite and the new Caring MRI Suite. Staff members will explain the benefits of 3-D mammography and our new MRI Caring Suite.
• Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with Radiologist, Shannon Turner, M.D., who will discuss diagnosis of breast cancer. Dr. Turner will also be interviewed on a Facebook Live video during the open house. Follow our Facebook page for more information.
• Women who would like to have a mammogram on the night of the open house can call JRMC Centralized Scheduling at 870-541-7393 in advance to schedule an exam.
• Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
