In celebration of Healthcare Quality Week, October 15-21, Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) in Pine Bluff has planned a public health fair that will take place on October 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in JRMC’s main lobby. The Health Fair will be free and open to the public. Weight, body fat, blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol readings will be offered. There will also be diabetes education, and JRMC dieticians will be there to provide healthy recipes for the upcoming holidays.
Last week, JRMC employees proudly joined the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) and those around the country in celebrating Healthcare Quality Week.
The week brings greater recognition for the healthcare quality profession and the contributions and impact these professionals make in their organization.
Every JRMC employee contributes to the quality of care patients receive, and Jodie Howell, Director of JRMC’s Quality Department, says that many of these individuals work behind the scenes. “When a patient comes in our hospital, they typically see the front-line staff only,” she said. “What they don’t get to see is this enormous amount of work and energy that behind-the-scenes individuals put in to make sure that patients’ experiences exceed expectations and that their health outcomes are optimal. Hundreds of JRMC employees that patients never see work hard every day to ensure that everything our practitioners are doing is of optimal quality. It’s a silent force that’s always working to create policies, procedures and education and give support to our organization to improve each patient’s stay in our hospital.”
