During Hospital Week, May 7 – 13, Jefferson Regional Medical Center announced the JRMC Employee of the Year.

Melvin Turner, JRMC Grounds Work Leader in Environmental Services, was chosen JRMC Employee of the Year. He was hired at JRMC in 1982, and then left for a brief stint only to return in 1994. Turner received two nominations: one from a coworker and one from the facilities operations manager. Both included rave reviews about Turner. “Melvin Turner is a model employee,” JRMC facilities operation manager said. “I wish I could clone him over and over.” His coworker’s nomination form said, “Melvin takes great pride in making our facility clean inside and outside and has done so for several years. Melvin is a hard worker and a good example to others. We are fortunate to have him at JRMC.”

JRMC would like to congratulate Turner on this award. Choosing the employee of the year can be a weighty task, and Turner was chosen because of the excellence he brings to every aspect of his position. He consistently exceeds expectations and goes above and beyond, and JRMC is proud to have him on staff.
