JRMC Volunteers Needed

News

At this time, Jefferson Regional Medical Center is in need of adult volunteers in the following areas:

  • JRMC Cath Lab (host or hostess), Monday through Friday, in the mornings
  • Patient Mail Delivery
  • JRMC Gift Shop
  • I-530 Medical Mall (host or hostess) any time during the week

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and commit to volunteering for no less than a six-month period. They must interview and go through a background check as well as participate in a one-day orientation. All positions involve working with people.

Volunteers can join the JRMC Auxiliary for $5 a year. Auxiliary membership, however, is not required. The JRMC Auxiliary conducts a number of fundraisers throughout the year such as scrub sales, jewelry sales and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and uses the money to support JRMC programs.

“The JRMC Volunteer Program is a wonderful opportunity to make an impact on one’s community and gain valuable experience working in a service-oriented role,” said Volunteer Coordinator Debbie Tole.

“JRMC sees the benefits of volunteers’ generosity on a daily basis as they serve and represent the hospital and is thankful for those that give their time and effort to JRMC every single day,” Tole said.

In 2016, JRMC volunteers gave 10,196.25 hours to serve the hospital. JRMC services 216,000 residents of eleven counties of Southeast Arkansas.

Those interested in the JRMC volunteer program may contact Tole at (870) 541-7269.
