Jefferson Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Gastroenterologist Meer Akbar Ali, M.D., has joined GI Associates of South Arkansas and is now seeing patients.
Dr. Ali completed his internal medicine residency followed by chief residency at the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He then completed his gastroenterology and therapeutic advanced endoscopy fellowships at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Subsequently, he joined as an attending gastroenterologist and the associate program director of the GI fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and assistant professor in medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. His clinical interests include general and advanced gastroenterology and endoscopic ultrasound. He also holds a special interest in the treatment of GI bleeding. Dr. Ali is passionate about promoting and enhancing colorectal cancer screening awareness.
In his free time, Dr. Ali enjoys music, theater and horseback riding.
