During Hospital Week, May 7 – 13, Jefferson Regional Medical Center announced the JRMC Nurse of the Year.
Amy Smallwood, RN, Patient Care Coordinator in the ICU, was named JRMC Nurse of the Year. She is a graduate of the Jefferson School of Nursing and has worked at JRMC for over 13 years. On her nomination form, Smallwood’s coworker said, “I have asked Amy for help with different tasks and she has always helped me. She gives 150% to everything she does. Amy is always a 10. She meets and exceeds the 10 things listed on our Commitment to 10 Program.” JRMC’s 10 Commitments state: “I am always committed to treating you with compassion and respect; actively listening and providing clear communication; being responsive to your needs; providing you with the highest quality care; the comfort and well-being of JRMC’s patients and guests; earning and keeping your trust; conducting my work in a professional manner; having a positive attitude and willingness to do my job to the best of my ability; providing a clean environment; and doing my part to make JRMC the best hospital for patients and guests.”
JRMC would like to congratulate Smallwood on this award. Choosing the nurse of the year is no small task. Smallwood was chosen because of the excellence she displays in every aspect of her position. She consistently exceeds expectations and goes above and beyond, making JRMC a better hospital every single day.
