Ashok Akula, MD

Interventional Cardiologist Ashok Akula, MD earned his medical degree from Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, India, prior to completing a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. Following his training, he spent nine years practicing as a hospitalist throughout Oklahoma, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Dr. Akula always knew Cardiology was his passion, and he later pursued a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), followed by a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Michigan State University in Kalamazoo.

Dr. Akula is a board-certified member of the physician team at Jefferson Regional Cardiology Associates and the Jefferson Regional Medical Staff. He holds membership in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.

When he is not providing patient care, Dr. Akula enjoys playing soccer and basketball, spending time with his family, watching movies, exploring new places, and learning new languages.
