Interventional Cardiologist Mauro Taveras, MD, earned his medical degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana School of Medicine in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was a fellow in Cardiovascular Disease at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, where he later served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He completed an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at Baylor University in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Taveras is a member of the physician team at Jefferson Regional Cardiology Associates and the Jefferson Regional Medical Staff. He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiology, Ecocardiography and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.

When he is not providing patient care, Dr. Taveras enjoys hobbies such as mountain biking, cooking, and table tennis.
